Custom work can run the gamut from simple sketches for personal use to complete graphic novels meant for publication. There is no limit to the scope of the kind of custom work that is available.
The most common custom work is personal illustration. Many people just want a picture of their character in a pose or situation that they have imagined. This is a simple and inexpensive request.
The process of custom work is simple: first you request, then Hushicho replies with an estimate. Continuing forth with the work, he provides a sketch, and then makes changes from that sketch or continues on to finish the piece.
It is recommended that you be very specific in describing what you want, and what you want changed, at any point of the process. After a certain point, fundamental changes in aspects of the work cannot be done. It is best to be as clear and as specific as possible from the beginning so that there is no misunderstanding or disappointment.
Payment is expected before work begins. In certain circumstances this may be delayed. You will receive regular status updates, sketches, and the like.
Rates start at $15 US and increase due to complexity or scope of commercial purpose. Pencil, ink, digital media, black and white, and colour are among the options available to you, as well as illustration, comic strip, comic page, sketch, or more.
Hushicho retains the copyright to his work, unless or until otherwise arranged. He makes no claim of ownership to any characters in the art. You are the only ones to receive lossless copies of the work, and even the originals if requested. However, lower-quality copies of the work may be exhibited or used in portfolios. If the work is too private for your comfort, simply express that and it will be kept private and never shared.
